The hotel Akti Arilla is a traditional Corfiote hotel owned and run by the Lefkimmiatis family who also own a local olive factory producing the best olive oil you will ever taste! Since 1970, Stamatis and Maria have provided the best hospitality and home-cooked food in the heart of Arillas. Their three children, Helen, Kostas and Spiros have brought the hotel right up-to-date with a fabulous pool, internet access, and Sky TV in the comfortable lounge bar area where you can watch the world go by while sipping one of their cocktails.
The en-suite bedrooms are on three levels, reached by a marble staircase and cool corridors. The twin/double bedrooms are simply and tastefully furnished, clean and airy, all linen and towels provided and a chambermaid service. The bathrooms have a bath, shower and toilet. We only sell the pleasant bedrooms at the rear of the hotel, all with a sea view balcony and facing away from the bars on the main road leading down to the beach, about 100 metres away.
Breakfasts are served in the dining area and offer a selection of cold meats, cheese, eggs, toast, honey (Greek of course) and bread freshly baked in Arillas, fruit, juices and tea or coffee. The lounge bar is open all day serving snacks, drinks and ice creams. As dusk falls, Maria produces the daily special and choices from the menu but the locals will always ignore the menu and ask what is recommended for the freshest local produce, that’s my tip!
As the day ends for the tourist and you are having a last night cap in the Akti Arilla bar, you will see the Lefkimmiatis family all gathered around the dining table for their dinner sharing a carafe of wine, from Arillas grapes of course.
